James is a transfer student studying Biology in the College of Arts and Science, with the intent
to attend medical school. He served six years in the United States Navy as Fleet Marine Force
Hospital Corpsman. James deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2009 and Al Anbar
Province, Iraq in 2008, with 2d Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. Jimmy has served as
Vet Chair and has been a member of AU Vets since 2012.

Chris Hansen
Born in Madison WI, and graduated high school in 2004. Enlisted in the United States Marine
Corps in 2005. Stationed in Hawaii with 1st BN 3rd Marines A Co. Deployed to Iraq In 2007
and 2008. Spent 6 months in Okinawa at the Jungle Warfare Training Center as an Instructor.

Davina Durgana
Davina is a civilian who joined AU Vets in the fall of 2012. She is a PhD student in the School of International Service. She specializes in transnational human security issues and human trafficking. Her work explores the relationship between technology and demand in human trafficking and the potential roles for non-conventional civil society actors in the anti-trafficking field. She was previously a member of the GW Veterans group as an undergraduate from 2009-2010.

Chris Navarra
Chris has been in the Navy since 2003 where he served as a Sonar Technician (STG),
stationed out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii where he travelled throughout the Pacific Ocean in two
deployments. He transferred into the SIS in the fall 2012 and has been an active member of AU
Vets since then while continuing his military service in the Naval Reserves as an analyst.

Andrew is a first year Graduate student in the Department of Justice, Law and Society in the School of Public Affairs, studying for a Master of Science in Terrorism Studies and Security Policy. Andrew graduated Magna Cum Laude from American University in 2011 with a B.A. in International Studies and a Minor in Chinese Language. He has been serving in the United States Marine Corps Reserves for four years, and is stationed in Anacostia, Maryland with Detachment 1, 4th Marine Logistics Group, 4th Supply Battalion.

Chris is a Public Affairs Specialist with the United States Coast Guard Reserve in Washington, D.C., and a student pursuing a degree in International Studies within the School of International Service. Prior to entering the selective reserves, Chris served in the United States Coast Guard from November 2001 to June 2012. Chris has also facilitated major media production projects featured in motion pictures and television documentaries.

Mike is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and a marketing professor in the Kogod School of Business. He earned his undergraduate degree from Manhattan College and his MBA from Columbia University. He began his career in New York as an advertising account executive. He was with SSC&B/Lintas and, later, Wells Rich Greene working on packaged goods accounts. He moved to Washington as advertising manager of the U.S. Postal Service. He was a founding partner of Porter, Novelli & Associates; CEO of Shandwick's Henry J. Kaufman & Associates; general manager of the Washington office of Earle Palmer Brown; and senior vice president of Direct Impact, Burson-Marsteller's grassroots communications subsidiary. Most recently, Mike was the President of CARMA International. Mike previous taught at Georgetown from 1984 through 2004. He has been AU Vets Faculty Adviser since the summer of 2011.
